Political propaganda is being presented to our children with displays on the walls in the student wing of the Grand Haven High School. The “Celebrate Black Authors” display and the “Women’s History” poster, discussed in a recent article, clearly advocate identity politics. The Calling All Colors and GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) posters continue this theme.
Calling All Colors
The Women’s History Breaking Barriers sign is shared with the student group Calling All Colors; a left-leaning student group that created the anti-racism lessons used in academy class. They also created a video featuring Black Lives Matter shown to all students in academy class (2022) in honor of Martin Luther King Day. This further confirms the political agenda being pushed on GHAPS students.

On the left side of this poster there are three photos of people and on the right side there are three photos of books. On the left, Elliot Page is transgender as listed on the poster. On the right, both the books Jess Chunk and the Road Trip to Infinity, and They Both Die at the End have been flagged as inappropriate books by the Texas Representative Matt Krause. Jess Chunk and the Road Trip to Infinity features transexual and pansexual main characters and works to normalize these behaviors. They Both Die at the End contains foul language and features two male main characters who get together at the end of the story. Both of these books contain content that is age inappropriate for children, should be rated, and require parental permission before children have access to them. Therefore, they should not be advertised on the wall of a building created to educate children.
While the purpose of the GSA poster is clearly to let students know that the club meets every Wednesday, the real question is why are students demanding this type of a club? According to an Axios survey, the number of people identifying as LGBTQ is skyrocketing.
It seems that instead of teaching our children to be accepting of people who are different, our society is making children want to be different. (See the article LGBTQ in Ottawa County)
Kids don’t come up with gender confusion on their own. Here’s a quote from a community member. “When I was a little girl, I enjoyed doing the things boys did more than what girls were supposed to do. I did what I wanted, still do, but I knew I was a girl. I didn’t need to be affirmed. I dealt with the FACTS. I think we are teaching kids that they can change the facts, any FACTS, to suit their desires.”
Here is a short Tucker Carlson clip featuring a 23 year old woman named Helena Kerschner who is in the process of detransitioning.
While all of these posters might help a certain segment of students feel that they are included, what effect are they having on the majority? Does the majority feel included in decisions, and like they belong? Or are kids in the majority trying to become celebrated by becoming part of the LGBTQ minority?
Today it is difficult for straight, white, Christian, males with financially stable parents to get scholarships to college, but children who can match specific identity categories have a multitude of opportunities. Isn’t this reverse discrimination? Nobody wants to be called racist or homophobic or an oppressor. One way to prove you are not an oppressor is to become a victim. It is difficult for children to change their skin color or the financial stability of their parents, but they can change their sexual orientation with a simple declaration, and they believe they can change their biological sex with a declaration as well. This simple declaration makes children victims, not oppressors. Maybe this is the reason the numbers of LGBTQ children is skyrocketing?
It makes me wonder if this group and these posters are advertising support, or supporting agendas?
