Parent email communication to GHAPS superintendent and board members who claim CRT isn’t in schools 12/1/21:
“I get messages from parents and teachers constantly about what’s happening in GH schools because I started the Facebook parent page. It becomes overwhelming, mostly because I can’t do anything about it beyond telling you. You all hold the position to change course. Which of you will have the courage and discernment to speak up?
Teachers tell me they feel intimidated and that they can’t freely speak without being targeted and losing their jobs. You mistakenly believe it’s because they’re white supremacists and bigots, or have denial and white fragility, as the author you’ve recommended to your teachers, states in her book. I can attest that they aren’t.
When Calvin Terrell came to do a Q & A with parents a few years ago during a weekday night, I was standing in the high school hallway, outside the auditorium, speaking to a high school teacher while people were arriving and waiting to go in. I hadn’t said much while this teacher was talking to me, and he mistakenly assumed I was there to support Calvin. He told me he “was expecting all the tiki torch carrying parents to show up.” I suppose he believed that would be the parents who saw Calvin’s online rhetoric calling police, fireman and military white supremacists and were rightly concerned why he was being brought in to “train their kids”. When I told this teacher who I was and that many of the people there were actually concerned parents I’d spoken with, he got very uncomfortable and told me he wasn’t supposed to talk to me, and backed away from us.
Shockingly, and likely to his dismay, no actual white supremacists showed up that night. We predominantly saw concerned parents and a few purple haired white ladies in baggy sweatpants yelling across the auditorium to me that I was a Nazi, which amused me because I’m Jewish. So if you don’t have a community of white supremacists, perhaps you needed an ideology to create them… that’s what appears to be happening.
One parent told me about “a special speaker” that came to her sons school …here’s the story that was relayed to me…
“A few years ago they had a special speaker come in and speak about racism and stereotypes. It was argued that stereotypes come from somewhere...like white cops being stereotyped. The teacher said “BUT it should only be considered a stereotype when it’s about an inferior race”.
Her son remarked to his teacher: “So, you’re saying whites are a superior race!?” The teacher said “no that’s not what I am saying.” He said, “that’s literally what you just said.”
“That was the last time my son spoke up on the matter. Now he just keeps his mouth shut. I’m happy that he sees through the BS.” the parent told me.
Was that the impact you were hoping to make??
The videos they’re watching ( in class, via YouTube “instruction”) and in your recommended books repeatedly express that it’s “not enough to NOT BE RACIST”, you must be “anti- racist”. It sounds nice enough doesn’t it?? Nobody wants to be a racist. But the definition of “anti- racist” expands and encompasses an entire narrative that to be anti-racist, you must also be anti-capitalist, feminist, pro transgender, and pro whatever new sexuality is on the table…in other words you must be a radical leftist. It’s “not enough to not be racist”, you must take up your social justice torch and burn your country to the ground…so we can “build back better”. I don’t know that many of you have any idea of what you’re doing. Your intentions are probably good, this ideology you are pushing, that you claim you’re not, not so much. Please educate yourselves. Please balance the school out to remove indoctrination and bring back critical thinking.
I’ve heard many high school kids tell me it feels like we’re going backwards in terms of relations between ethnicities. This rhetoric is divisive, and it’s racist.
A few years ago, I was speaking to Carol Swain about coming to Grand Haven as a speaker, I’ve mentioned her to Mary Jane Evink as a great person to bring in. She was a professor at Vanderbilt university and she has an incredible story. Her speaking fee was only $3,000 for two events. We could have one speaking engagement for Ghaps and offer to donate her 2nd event with Muskegon high school students. She’s recently authored a book about CRT. I’ll leave you with a link to a recent interview she did with a young lady from Florida who was indoctrinated into this ideology you are now teaching while telling us you’re not teaching it.
Please consider Carol Swain to speak at the next assembly. If you need funding, I’ll raise money for it.
I’d also like to share some direct quotes from some of the books you’ve recommended to your teachers during professional development training ( why your choir director quit citing racism, he was right).
Thanks for your time and your service to the community, please start educating yourselves on different perspectives.

If you disagree or are accused…it’s because you have “white fragility”…to disagree brings more accusation against you.
“anti racist”, as opposed to “not racist” as Grand Haven teaches, and according to your recommended book by Kendi means more than not treated people poorly based on skin color. It also means you’re anti capitalist.
