When parents across the country initially discovered sexually explicit books in school libraries a few years ago, they discovered a symptom of a serious problem. Further investigation led to the discovery of the agenda to teach children to become neo-Marxist activists through lessons rooted in critical theory, using feel-good buzz words such as diversity, equity, and inclusion, social justice, and social emotional learning to hide the truth. It appears the root cause of these symptoms is a collection of various sources of government funding, politically captured national teacher organizations, businesses that supply materials to schools, and a university educational system that churns out plenty of new teachers that subscribe to destructive neo-Marxist ideas such as anti-racism, gender theory, and post colonialism. We do know that not all teachers push this agenda, and greatly appreciate those who teach children the foundational skills of reading, writing, math, true history, and science.

Like the public education system, county community mental health (CMH) organizations are showing symptoms that indicate the existence of serious problems. In Ottawa County, one of the first symptoms that indicated the existence of CMH problems was its relationship with the Momentum Center. Investigation into the Momentum Center revealed it was an activist organization that used vulnerable residents with mental health challenges and disabilities to hide their activism from residents. Led by the self-proclaimed sex minister, the Momentum Center offered LGBTQ affinity groups, get-out-the-vote events, anti-racism town hall meetings, and COVID-19 vaccine clinics. While the Momentum Center hid under a banner of a mental health social recreation center, residents began to sense that something was off.

The Momentum Center is funded largely by the mental health millage, through Community Mental Health Ottawa County (CMHOC). The mental health millage also provides funding to the Ottawa Community School Network which has been shown to be an organization attempting to fundamentally transform school districts by preparing youth and their families to adopt a collectivist system of society and government. In addition to transforming schools, the OCSN has partnered with the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District (OAISD), the Ottawa County Public Health Department (OCDPH) and the Michigan Department of Education LGBTQ Student Project to provide suicide prevention training that focused on radical blind LGBTQ affirmation. Here is a link to the training video and here is a link to a clip showing how the MDE LGBTQ Student Project suggests schools hide student participation in Gay Straight Alliance clubs from their parents.
Two additional glaring symptoms that indicated serious problems with CMH’s mission were the offering of online dating for the intellectually disabled and the implementation of a radical sex education curriculum for special needs students at the OAISD as part of Young Adult Services (YAS), which serves adults ages 18-26 who have cognitive disabilities such as Down’s Syndrome and autism.
Another symptom was brought to light when Ottawa County commissioners were asked to sell data on Ottawa County’s intellectually and developmentally disabled population in exchange for $10,000. Thankfully, the commissioners refused this obscene data collection scam. Commissioners were also asked to approve funding for the ‘Man Therapy’ program, which somehow had the goal of reducing suicide using videos such as the one included below. Watching the 50-second-long video below shows the absurdity of the Man Therapy grant request.
As with the public school educational system, it appears various sources of government funding to CMH organizations are a significant root cause of the symptoms, as several lead to the CCBHC [Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic]. A CCBHC is not a physical clinic, but a system of care that addresses behavioral health. The Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), as well as several state governments, have provided grant funding to select organizations for the purpose of creating the necessary data collection and partnership organization infrastructure required to establish a CCBHC. It appears mental health millage money is also being used to establish some of the infrastructure necessary for an approved CCBHC.
Symptoms alert us to greater problems and tend to continue growing until problems become glaringly obvious. Sometimes symptoms have a variety of root causes, but when government is involved, there is almost certainly a financial component. Unfortunately, following the tangled web of government funding is tricky, and will ultimately require shutting off multiple spigots to make the symptoms that we are seeing subside.
