At the July 2021 GHAPS board meeting, Trustee Treutler moved to approve the adoption and purchase of the K-5 Science resources for $270,762.51. The science resource being referred to is the Twig Science Curriculum.
At first glance Twig Science appears to be just another science curriculum for elementary schools, but further investigation reveals that this curriculum is yet another tool that will be used to transform the minds of our children by filling them with left-wing political propaganda.
The 2-minute overview video that appears on the Twig Science home page and is linked below contains the following quote, “With Social Emotional Learning threaded throughout, every student can successfully collaborate to deliver stem projects they are truly proud of”. Social emotional learning is another term used to disguise Critical Race Theory. The statement says that this philosophy is threaded throughout the curriculum. My first question is why is it necessary to insert race theory and political propaganda in a science curriculum?
Another video reveals that Twig Science has sponsors. They are DC Thomson and Imperial College London. Imperial College London supports climate change studies, black students (what about all students?), and Covid-19 research. In addition, Twig Science is collaborating with Google, BBC, Scale, Acer and Scholastic. My next question is how do these partnerships affect our children?
Twig Science is aligned with over 20 international curriculum and each week students view digital lessons from the Twig Science Reporter. That means they spend time watching videos prepared by globalists in charge of the K-5 science curriculum. What do these people want our children to believe? While some of these digital lessons may be harmless, the Twig Science Reporter takes control away from our local community of teachers and allows globalists to push their agenda on our unsuspecting children.

The Reviving the Streets of Paris lesson discusses over crowding, traffic congestion, and transforming Paris into the most environmentally friendly city. This sounds a bit like The Green New Deal.
When cows burp and fart, the smell is the least of our worries. The film The Problem With Cow Farts explores the environmental impact of cattle farming. You have to log into their site to watch this one, but based on the description, it is clear that globalist are focusing on The Environmental Impact of Cattle Farming. Bill Gates is heavily invested in the development of synthetic meat.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also attacked cattle farming by focusing on cow farts when she introduced The Green New Deal.
The study of science is supposed to teach our children how to examine problems and observe nature so they can build knowledge about how the natural world works. Children in grades K-5 can explore numerous science concepts with little to no curriculum. On nature walks they can collect leaves, bugs and pine cones, children can keep nature notebooks, grow plants, care for a classroom pet, make slime, learn to use a microscope and then explore cells and pond water, learn about constellations and then view the night sky. There are a multitude of other activities that can be completed without the intrusion and expense of a global Twig Science Reporter. Don’t we pay teachers to create lesson plans anymore? Parents, I urge you to play close attention to the subtle lessons your children are receiving along with their science. It will transform their thinking.
